Mission Statement

The mission of EG Collegiate Career Consulting is to facilitate a successful college career for students and the families that support them.

EG Collegiate Career Consulting was founded on the concept that college is a path to a self-sustaining career.  This path is different for each student and family but should include:

  • A well-defined Target College list, before application, that will increase the likelihood of acceptance
  • Adequate amount of time and resources for a successful and unique college application process
  • Financial resources for tuition, room, board and the cost of living in college that will result in a self-sustaining lifestyle and career after graduation.

President/Founder Biography

Erika Grace has accomplished over 15 years’ experience employed in Corporate America in roles ranging from Finance/ Accounting to Executive Recruiting disciplines.  She has achieved a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Long Island University (Cum Laude) in 1992 as well as her CPA license in the state of New York.  Her previous employers include PriceWaterhouseCoopers (formerly Coopers & Lybrand), Eckerd Corporation (former subsidiary of JC Penneys) and Tropicana Products, a division of Pepsico.

Erika Grace combines her ‘real-world’ employment experience, financial know-how and a passion to facilitate students’ development into self-sustaining employed adults into her role as President of EG Collegiate Career Consulting.

Most recent statistics, updated for the graduating 2009 class report an average debt load per college graduate of $24,000, according to the Project on Student Debt.  This rate has increased at a rate of 6% from the prior year.

According to the most recent U.S. Department of Education's "College Affordability and Transparency Center List", Bates College in ME tops the list at $51,000.

This statistic does not seem to be presently available (yet).  HOWEVER, in a September, 2010 Wall Street Journal article, Pennsylvania State University was ranked #1 by Recruiters seeking employees.  This article is a great read!

In a recent National Association of Colleges and Employers study, Petroleum Engineering was ranked as the #1 paying major, topping the list at an approximate starting salary of $86,000.  Other top paying majors include computer science, mechanical, electronics and mining engineering.
